It’s often difficult to decide which session to attend in any given hour, to make your choice a little easier we have asked our speakers to elaborate on what they will be covering and why you should come along to their session!
This will hopefully enable you to choose the most value add session for your business.
To start the series off we spoke to Andrew Slack from MoreNiche
1. Which session are you speaking on?
This year I am holding a session called ‘Managing Risk to Ensure Long-term Success’ in Platinum 3 hall at 17:15 on the first day of the event. This presentation is designed to give affiliate marketers a head start, hopefully avoiding some of the common pitfalls other, less fortunate affiliates experience.
2. What advice will you be sharing at your session? i.e Why should we come and see you!
I will be using real life examples from past affiliates/online business to illustrate how making some simple changes could result in protecting losses and lead to long term success. This session will cover topics such as building recurring revenue, developing multiple traffic sources and protecting sites against hackers. By presenting snappy facts and past examples I hope to deliver an interesting presentation before heading off for reception drinks and the more adventurous people at the breakout party.
3. Why is it important?
Running an affiliate program we have affiliates and merchants presenting business challenges daily. I hope that by demonstrating past examples, together we can prevent business crushing situations and continue to build an affiliates business. Although tailored for affiliates these topics are relevant for any business which has an online presence whether you’re an affiliate, merchant or even affiliate network.
4.   What experience level will you be pitching at? (beginner to advanced)
The session is aimed at novice affiliates or merchants who are looking to learn from other affiliates mistakes. Experienced members are of course welcome. With more to lose even one useful suggestion could help reduce their risk.
5. Which sessions or speakers are you looking forward to seeing at a4uexpo?
I am very interested to hear Paul Dixon and Gavin Male’s opinion on Voucher codes in a session titled ‘An Added Cost That Is Open To Abuse Or A Valuable Customer Acquisition And Retention Tool?’ on day one and day two ‘Beat Your Merchants At Their Own Game’ presented by Ben Jesson and Dr Karl Lanks
6. Do you have any tips for delegates who attend conferences like a4uexpo?
The biggest advice I can give is talk, talk and talk some more. Don’t be afraid of asking questions or talking to people. The reason for events like the a4uexpo is to learn, even if people exhibiting don’t seem relevant they are all successful in their own field. Ask questions and try to understand their business model, it might just open doors you would otherwise be unaware off.
Affiliate marketing is still a very misunderstood marketing technique, enjoy the fact you can talk to people who understand what you do, it’s a refreshing change!
7. Can you share any hot news or gossip in your world / niche?
As well as speaking this year I can be found on stand 44 where MoreNiche are exhibiting for the very first time. We will be shouting about our new merchant Slimming.com who are offering 20-40% commission on weight management products which can be found in the high street – we’ve got some huge, popular brands! I understand not everybody reading this post will be able to make the show, if this is the case don’t miss out, stay glued to the Affiliates4U forum and feel free to contact the speakers & exhibitors before or after the show.
